We’re excited to tell you about some fresh titles from Badger Learning available for the new Autumn school term.

Teen Reads

The fifth collection of our much-loved Teen Reads series is being published ready for September, with diverse and exciting storylines, covering thought-provoking themes relevant to readers aged 12-15, including loneliness, mental illness, crime and dystopia.

With typical word counts varying between 6,000 and 14,000; aimed at students with a reading age of 8-9, the ten novels that make up this latest installation in the series will prove as popular as ever with reluctant readers and secondary teachers.

The League of Enchanted Heroes

This fantastic new fiction series for primary school readers comprises eight exciting stories for struggling readers, featuring the updated adventures of some fairytale favourites, including Tom Thumb and Rapunzel.

Created for 9-12 year olds with a lower reading age of around 6-7, these titles expand on the characters and themes first encountered in one of the books in our Once Upon Another Time series.

By balancing lower word-counts with imaginative plotlines and smart design, we’ve created them to be accessible and age-appropriate without appearing specialised and off-putting.

Kids will love the light-hearted stories and engaging colour illustrations, while teachers will appreciate the dyslexia friendly layouts and line spacing, plus pages with engaging questions at the end, designed to ensure comprehension.

GCSE Science Resources for New Curriculum

Not all of our new arrivals are aimed at struggling and reluctant readers – we’ve also created a comprehensive collection of resources for teachers of the new GCSE science curriculum.

Our series; Working Scientifically, has been developed by science education specialists, Dr Andrew Chandler-Grevatt and Dr Deborah Shah-Smith, specifically with September’s new programme in mind.

The activities included in the three books – Biology, Chemistry and Physics – are suitable for any exam board and work well as ‘add-ons’ to any Key Stage 4 scheme of work.

You’ll find everything you need to encourage students to improve analytical skills, prediction, information presentation and more, with activity sheets, homework tasks and differentiation suggestions for mixed-ability groups.
