Mixed Scheme Phonics: Phase 2

Badger's best-selling Mixed Scheme Boxes range has been extended to include Mixed Phonics Boxes. Levelled by Phases rather than book bands, these collections for EYFS and KS1 are an ideal way to buy and stock reading books matched to classroom phonic learning. Each collection will come with a handy storage box with Phase labels provided. To ensure books can be easily identified and put back into the correct reading boxes, individual book labels are included with phases printed clearly upon them. All books are fitted with a free protective jacket to protect and preserve their life in school.

In Phase 2 children will be working daily on learning, practising and playing with at least the recommended five sets of letters as well as blending and segmenting for reading and spelling VC and CVC words (e.g. at, in, on, tap, pet, tip, cat) to read simple sentences independently.

From leading publishers Oxford, Collins, Rising Stars and Ransom, the pack includes books from Big Cat Phonics for Letters and Sounds, Reading Planet Rocket Phonics, Ransom Reading Stars Phonics and Oxford Reading Tree's Floppy's Phonics. Books include extra notes for parents on the inside covers. For example, Rocket Phonics' book 'The Egg' encourages children to familiarise themselves with the sounds ck, e, u, r, h, b, l, ll and ss before reading and offers questions for responding to the text such as 'Who did the egg bump into?' or 'Have you ever been to a farm?' All titles within this collection are book band level Pink.
