Hands-on Maths Year 4
Hands-on Maths for Year 4 offers a 10 minute activity per day based upon the use of readily available classroom objects or 'manipulatives’ such as counters, shells, cars, dice, bricks and more. The series supports a concrete-pictorial-abstract approach to help pupils’ develop mastery of key mathematical concepts and National Curriculum objectives.

Divided into 6 weeks per mathematical topic area (6 areas: counting, representing numbers, place value, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, and Fractions) each page provides to 5 short daily activities for the week.

Week 3: Add mentally a four-digit number and tens / hundreds
Week 4: Subtract mentally a four-digit number and tens / hundreds
Week 5: Add mentally a four-digit number and thousands (finding 1000 more)
Week 6: Subtract mentally a four-digit number and thousands (finding 1000 more)
