Bug Club Independent KS2 Blue

In line with the commonly used KS2 book band levels, Brown, Grey, Dark Blue, Dark Red and Dark Red+ for pupils exceeding expectations, Bug Club Independent is ideal for monitoring KS2 pupils' reading progression. Reading books are expertly written and levelled maintaining a bright, varied, attractive 'real' book look and feel that helps to keep children enthusiastic about their independent reading. The Bug Club Independent Blue collection features short chapter books, at book band level Dark Blue (Bug Club level Blue for KS2). This collection includes a play, classical fiction e.g. The Wind in the Willows, modern fiction from popular authors e.g. Josh Lacey, Jean Ure and interesting non-fiction books on a wide range of subjects. Our favourite is the Creatures in Danger, Globe Challenge, a fun interactive way of looking at the UK Coastline with Uncle Globe and his niece Ruth Trotter. The books are shorter than many library (non-scheme) books for older pupils, but are ideal for sharing with an adult for assessment. Children can still have free choice in the library but their Bug Club book ensures readers' access perfectly pitched books too. Your Bug Club Dark Blue banded books will be fully fitted with a protective book jacket free of charge.
