ELS: Essential Blending Books Phase 4 Class Pack

Essential Blending Books allow children to focus on the GPC’s they are learning as well as practice the skill of blending to make words. This set of 30 books (six copies of five titles) support the Knowledge Trust’s validated SSP programme, Essential Letters and Sounds (ELS), in the Summer Term 1 of Reception, Phase 4.

Children can practice the GPC’s aloud, blend them to make a word and then turn the page to check using the pictorial representation of the word.  At the end of the book there are sentences to practice harder to read and spell words (HRSW’s).

Summer Term 1

• Week 1, Book 13 — CVCC-ed/ed/
• Week 2, Book 14 — CCVC-ed/t/
• Week 3, Book 15 — CCVCC-ed/d/
• Week 4, Book 16 — CCCVC
• Week 6, Book 17 — CCCVCC (-er, -est)

*NB Week 5 is a Review week

To ensure that books last for a longer period of time, every book will be fitted with a complete protective book cover as part of our service, free of charge.
