ELS: Essential Phonic Readers: Oxford Reading Levels 1–2 Class Pack

The Essential Phonic Readers pack offers an engaging selection of fiction and non-fiction books, perfectly aligned with each week of Essential Letters and Sounds, enabling children to reinforce their phonics knowledge through reading within a precise framework. The pack includes six copies of 9 titles (54 books) at Oxford Reading Levels 1, 1+, and 2, Phase 2 (6 books) to Phase 3 (3 books), for Reception children to read in Autumn Term 1, Weeks 1–6  and Autumn Term 2, Weeks 1–3.

The books are fully decodable, with each title carefully matched to the phonic progression of Essential Letters and Sounds. Essential Letters and Sounds is aligned with Letters and Sounds (2007) and is a DfE validated phonics programme, ensuring that it meets the highest educational standards.

Whether used in class or as take-home readers, the Essential Phonic Readers are an ideal way for children to consolidate their phonics knowledge through closely matched books. New books are introduced to children every Friday after learning the GPC’s throughout the week and can be taken home. Week 5 unlocks a book that ‘reviews’ learning to date.

To help books last for a longer period of time, every book will be fitted with a complete protective book cover as part of our service, free of charge.
