Readerful Rise: Oxford Levels 3–6

Readerful is a complete reading approach containing everything you need to ensure children keep reading and that reading for pleasure is not left to chance. The DfE Reading Framework stresses the importance of activities such as reading aloud, having access to rich vocabulary and diverse and inclusive book choices. The Readerful library gives you all of this, enabling children to become fluent, motivated and engaged readers. Readerful offers 3 elements for children. Readerful Books for Sharing are beautifully illustrated picture books (including non-fiction and poetry) for teachers to read aloud to every class from Reception to Year 6. Readerful Independent books are motivating, progressively challenging (underpinned by Oxford Reading Levels), fun, enticing books from a host of popular children’s authors aimed at sparking and sustaining a love of reading as well as fluency. Readerful Rise is about giving KS2 readers the ability to read motivating and highly engaging books. Rise books are designed to follow the phonics progression of Essential Letters & Sounds (ELS) but map to most SSP’s. All books are decodable. The books themselves are written to appeal to older pupils in their content and tone. They are even ‘chunky’ to look and feel like books read by more confident readers in the class.

Progressively challenging books carefully take children from Oxford Levels 3 to 11, building on pupil’s self-esteem and confidence around reading, so that they want to keep reading and find pleasure in reading. All books in the Readerful Rise series have been tested in school and have been read by struggling readers to ensure their value and appeal.
