Do your students dare to enter the Big Top of Horrors?
Filled with evil clowns, mad magicians and a Ringmaster who may or may not be there to help - who will escape and who will be doomed!
The school bus arrived at the funfair.
"Welcome to the Big Top of Horrors", said the Ringmaster.
"If you are lucky, you might even get to go home again."
The pupils laughed. They thought the Ringmaster was joking.
But then strange things started to happen
Roll up, roll up! Boys and girls... take your seats… come and see what the Big Top of Horrors has in store… Filled with evil clowns, mad magicians and a Ringmaster who may or may not be there to help - who will escape and who will be doomed? This six-books series is written with carefully controlled language but gruesome and exciting plots. The stories include elements of horror, the supernatural, action and adventure, and reluctant readers are sure to be drawn into the drama that unfolds inside each title.
This hi-lo horror series for struggling and reluctant readers has been written for children aged 12+, whose current reading age is between 6 and 7 years. These age-appropriate short reads have 32 pages and are written by gifted authors. They incorporate a large font size and text separated into bite-sized chunks, along with carefully considered letter and paragraph spacing that can reduce visual stress. The series has plenty of practice at one level, allowing consolidation of learning before moving on to more challenging reads. The vocabulary list of tricky words can aid comprehension before reading the book.
